Obstetric pessary AlbisPro 65mm
The collar pessary, also known as the obstetric pessary, works by preventing the shortening of the cervix. In more than 90% of cases, it is an alternative to surgery to prevent cervical insufficiency, which also helps avoid premature births.
The pessary is intended for pregnant women who have premature shortening or dilation of the cervix. It is also used to treat other, less common problems during pregnancy, such as urinary retention in the kidneys, varicose veins of the lower limbs and vulva, and pelvic pain syndrome.
The mechanism of action of the obstetric pessary is to support the cervix and move it towards the sacrum, while not closing it completely. This makes it an ideal solution in the following cases:
- supporting the cervix in pregnant women to prevent premature birth,
- during intense physical exertion,
- in the case of increased intrauterine pressure,
- in the treatment of cervical insufficiency.
The Albis obstetric pessary is equipped with holes that allow for the proper outflow of secretions, maintaining hygiene and minimizing the risk of infection.
